They say it’s never too early to start preparing for something as big as the World Series of Poker
and this year, those who want to spend their hot summer days at the poker tables battling it out for gold jewelry and massive prizes, will be able to start planning and drawing up qualifying schemes during the ice-covered gayety of mid-winter. Heck, they may even put some Holiday cheer into those efforts: the dates of the 2013 WSOP have already been announced.
The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino will play host to the Series again. The action kicks off on May 27 and it wraps up on July 14, 2014. The Main Event’s start is set for July 5 and the final table is expected to be reached on July 14. The actual schedule hasn’t been released yet, but it looks like those waiting for specifics won’t have to wait too long: the first official version of the schedule is set to be released in January, 2014.
What’s already clear though is that players will have more than 60 opportunities to take home a much-coveted gold bracelet.
For the first time in quite a while, players in the US will be able to win seats into the various WSOP 2014 events online too. WSOP.com will be the only online poker room to offer such qualifiers for US-based players for now.
Of course, those residing in other areas of the globe will be able to win their seats at the usual online sites, in the usual ways. PokerStars
shall probably remain the largest online poker operation to send non-US players to the Series.
Three of the landmark events of the Series have already been confirmed as well: the Millionaire Maker, the Big One for One Drop and the Little One for One Drop will all return to the schedule.
Sign up to PokerStars and start looking for the 2014 WSOP qualifiers as early as next month.
