It’s not that often that you really get to celebrate milestones in the on line poker world, but with PokerStars approaching 80 billion hands dealt, there’s plenty to celebrate.
When you’re as big as PokerStars you don’t think in hundreds, thousands, or even millions. PokerStars has been celebrating each milestone on their way to 100 Billion hands dealt, and the next celebration is on the horizon – 80 Billion! This in and of itself is certainly something to write home about, but PokerStars isn’t content with it just being cool, they want it to be profitable too, hence they’re making their 80 Billion Hand celebrations worth up to $1,000,000.
In order to be in the running for part of the 100 billion promotion cash prize, all you need to do is play online poker for money at PokerStars, and the more you play the more chance there is of winning. Each millionth hand from hand 79,700,000,000, to the big 80 billion will receive a cash payout. The counter on PokerStars shows you a live number of hands that have been played on the on line poker site, so you can roughly guess when’s good to jump in with as many hands as you can play at any-one time, but be warned, every-one else will be trying to do the same, so be careful not to miss it.
Each Milestone hand player will receive a cash payout, and that payout will be based on how much you play online poker for money at the site. The prize you walk away with, in addition to the regular prize pool from the game, will be the number of VPPs you’ve earned over the previous 50 hands, multiplied by $60, and then that will be added to a base prize of $20. Winners of the milestone hands, by the way, also have their winnings computed in the same way, except that their total sum then gets doubled! The players in the Mega Milestone game will get a Mega Milestone prize. Again their number VPPs will be taken from their last 50 games, but in this hand it will be multiplied by $1,000, and that sum will then be added to a base prize of $10,000. The winner will again have the same sum, only doubled! In other words, if there was ever a time to play online poker for money, this would be it!
