EPT Tallinn

The first ever EPT Tallinn stop proved to be a resounding success, attracting a starting field of more than 400 players. The organizers decided therefore that a second top in the stunning Estonian city was well in order for season 8. The EPT’s Season 8 Tallinn stop is hosted by the European Capital of Culture for 2011.
The city has much more to offer to its visitors who aren’t shy to squeeze in some exploring besides the poker. Tallinn boasts one of the best preserved medieval old towns in Europe, which has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The luxurious Swissotel in the very heart of the city is where the players will tear into each-others’ stacks, in their effort to follow in Kevin Stani’s footsteps all the way to the top. Norway’s Kevin Stani was the winner of last season’s EPT Tallinn. He took home €400k for his efforts.

Although the Main Event is the Main attraction of the stop, there’s much more to it: there are all sorts of live qualifiers running as well as side-events where players can battle it out for a little bit of extra EPT cash.
If one intends to earn his/her seat through a qualifier though, he/she is best off playing in one of the many online satellites which run at PokerStars. While direct access satellites are not exactly cheap to enter, there are all sorts of sub-satellites, some of which can be accessed for a handful of FPPs.
The EPT Tallinn events run between August 2-7 and only players 21 or older are accepted. The Main Event costs €4,000 + €250 to enter and it is capped at 600 players. Those who find themselves unable to qualify online, can buy in directly through PokerStars. This option includes all the side events and live qualifiers too, not just the Main Event.
