Qualify Online to the European Poker Tour 2013 – EPT 9 Berlin Stop

The EPT’s Berlin stop is one of the more popular ones of the circuit. The stop has been on the schedule for 3 years now. Its first edition saw 945 players cough up the buy-in for the Main Event. Those player numbers have fallen off that peak in subsequent years, but the inaugural edition of the stop has remained a benchmark to beat for the organizers. Despite the fact that the brief history of the EPT Berlin was marred by a spectacularly brazen robbery, it has remained one of the most popular stops of the European Poker Tour.

Last season, the winner of the Main Event was Belgium’s Davidi Kitai, who survived a starting field of 745 players to claim the €712k first-place prize. The final table of the event was a truly spectacular affair, which featured players from 6 different countries. The stage of the EPT 2013 Berlin will be the Grand Hyatt Berlin. The Series will run from April 17 to April 27, featuring a bunch of side-events and a high roller besides the Main Event.
PokerStars, the main sponsor of the EPT, makes it possible for everyone to buy directly into any EPT Berlin event directly at the site. Of course, there are online qualifiers running at the site as well, complete with a set of sub-qualifiers, some of which only cost pocket change to enter. Given that the Main Event features a 5.3k buy-in, finding a cheaper alternate route would indeed carry potentially untold financial benefits.
Those who earn their seats or buy in directly through PokerStars will not be required to wear PokerStars branded clothing because the German laws expressly forbid any gaming branding at the event. The stop will host the €1.1k Berlin Cup too.
