Full Tilt Poker is slowly but surely becoming THE destination for ultra-high stakes Heads-up events. A little while ago, the $25,000 heads-up World Championship drew huge participation and interest, sending ripples all through the online poker world. Now, Full Tilt is yet again set to create sensation: its $25,000 PLO Heads-up event starting on September 6th will once again attract a host of highly appraised professional players as well as a flocks of railbirds.
Pot Limit Omaha is considered the true tie-breaker in skill-matters by most professionals, and sure enough, there will be plenty of professionals participating in the event. Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Gus Hansen will all be there, and you’ll be able to play against them by buying in directly for $25,000. Just imagine the kind of impact it would have on your career as a poker player if you managed to beat one of the above named professionals in a heads-up game of Pot Limit Omaha. Since $25,000 don’t just lie around on any street-corner, and few are those who can actually afford to pay that much money to participate in an online event, I’m sure you’ll be glad to hear that you can satellite your way into the Heads-up PLO World Championship for much less. There are a set of direct qualifiers running through August (on the 23rd, 24th, 26th and 28th) with a buy-in of $500+$35. If you’re not comfortable paying this much for a satellite, there is a whole system of much smaller buy-in sub-sub satellites, where you have a theoretical chance of winning a seat in the big one for as little as $1 or just 50 Full Tilt points if you choose to begin your satellite ladder-ascent in a freeroll. The final stages of the Championship will take place on Sept 7th, and even if you fail to make it there, the excitement will not be over yet. By playing in one of the Sweat tournaments which run on September 7th too, you’ll be rooting for your favorite poker professional, knowing that his/her victory may land you some additional bonus cash. Choose a sweat tournament bearing the name of your favorite player, make the final table, and if your guy wins, you’ll share an additional prize-pool of $5k with the other final table participants.
