Absolute Poker

Absolute Poker is one of those poker rooms, which actually benefited from the turmoil produced by the UIGEA. They’ve been able to allow US players since Oct 2007, and thus they attracted a large percentage of the American players who were forced to leave the other poker rooms which no longer put up with their presence.
The problem-issue for Absolute has always been their software, which, despite looking good, has had some performance issues on slower systems. They are however, very keen to listen to what their players suggest, in order to continuously improve their operation.
Player traffic is good, and the fish-factor is strangely good at the middle stakes tables and much worse on small stakes ones, because there are apparently plenty of good players there, multi-tabling, in order to unlock their bonuses or generate as much rake as possible.
Yes, that’s right, it is in the interest of players to generate rake, as Absolute Poker features a nice rakeback offer too.

Full Tilt Poker

Full Tilt Poker is quickly becoming one of the industry’s heavyweights. Due to their policy of accepting US players, even in the turmoil following the passing of the UIGEA in September 2006, they pretty much sucked up all the American players, who were quite unceremoniously booted from the poker rooms they had played at before. That meant a huge thrust for Full Tilt’s player traffic, but don’t you believe for a second that’s the only ace they have up their sleeves. Full Tilt has always been famous for the professional players who not only endorse the brand, but who also play at their tables on a regular basis. Players like Chris Ferguson, Clonie Gowen, Phil Ivey and Jennifer Harmann are available to play with regular players, like you and I. No other poker room is going to present you with so many possibilities to play with your poker heroes. (Full Tilt has a wide selection of pretty generous bonuses and promotions on offer, too)

Unibet Poker

Unibet Poker is one of the oldest European-oriented poker rooms on the internet. Its Microgaming client features clear and crisp (though somewhat dated) graphics, 5 tables for multi-tabling purposes and excellent high stakes action. Their sign-up bonus is generous and their promotions are quite attractive. Having been around since 2004, Unibet Poker still boasts excellent player traffic: there are around 10,000 players at its tournament tables, and around 2,000 at its cash tables.
