PartyPoker is introducing a first of its kind Online Cash Game Championships and all PartyPoker players are invited to take part for big cash prizes.

The Online Cash Game Championships has been a long time in coming, but now that its start is immanent we couldn’t be happier. PartyPoker have taken what we’ve all be desperate for and made it reality – the OCGC is here.

The Online Cash Game Championships is open to every player at PartyPoker and offers a total of $250,000 to be won. The championship is divided into 7 levels which players will play through having to play 400 hands on at least one day during each level. Of the players who fulfil the criteria, PartyPoker will look at their first 400 hands of each player’s best day and from that calculate their performance level; the best players will eventually proceed to the final table which will be held on April 2nd. Progression through the levels will of course result in bigger cash prizes, but also of course stiffer competition. 

From Level  1 30% of players will get through to the Level 2 tables which will be held from March 8th to March 12th; the remaining 70% will be entered for a Second Chance during the same period from which 10% will proceed to Level 3. That is the one and only Second Chance opportunity. From Level 3, 30% proceed to Level 4, from Level 4 the top 50 players will proceed to level 5. From level 5 the top 18 will go through to Level 6, and of those the top six will go to the Final Table. The prizes steadily increase as the levels do, with a huge jump between Level 4 and 5 where the prize jumps from $400 to $3,000. The winner of the Final Table will receive $40,000 as a cash prize.

The first stage of the OCGC will have cash tables of $0.50/$1 and will run from March 1st to March 5th.
