It is not a secret to anyone familiar with the goings-on of the poker industry that one of the biggest losers of the post
UIGEA online poker world has been
Party Poker. The poker room which used to be considered the greatest, lost its entire US player base and ended up with a stripped, skeleton crew of Europeans manning their tables. Party Poker has repeatedly attempted to come to an agreement with US authorities that would allow them to re-gain the US market, and they even paid a few hefty fines just to make sure they’re not in breach of any kind of legislation. With all that though, US based competitors enjoyed a huge and unfair advantage over Party Poker and despite the major overhaul that they subjected their software to and the re-launch of the brand, traffic volumes didn’t really change.
The newest attempt to push the brand and to recover some of the ground lost to competitors has been recently undertaken through the launch of a global advertising campaign. The whole effort is really a multi-level one, centered around the slogan “Feel it”, where “it “ denotes the rush that gambling and poker offer players, a rush which will be dispensed generously at Party’s casino and poker tables in a manner that will allow players of all material means and skill levels to participate. New games, new promotions will be launched, a new, re-designed Party logo will be used, and a global ad campaign shall target TV audiences, billboards and press.
Towards this end, a TV ad has been put together at the Shepperton Studios. You can take a look at the action-filled flick at Party Poker’s website. Directed by Paul WS Anderson, the clip illustrates the “whirlwind” of excitement that players will experience at the online poker and casino tables offered by the Party Group.
Party Poker’s in-house marketing team joined forces with the Leeds-based “Home” agency in elaborating the campaign.
The Million Dollar Hand promotion is part of this new push, and it offers players outstanding value.
The Party Points system will be overhauled as well. Apparently, Party Points will go through an appreciation, so you’d do better to hang on to your PPs till the end of June when the change is scheduled to occur. According to Party Poker, Party Points will be worth about 50% more, and thus bonuses offered will be the equivalent of a 30-40% rakeback.
The look and feel of the PartyPoints store shall also be upgraded.
