Sponsored by PokerStars, the EPT is the European continent’s premiere live poker series. Its 3rd season set records from several perspectives. It has sold out its €5,000 events held in Warsaw, London, Copenhagen, Dortmund, and Barcelona, and there were a record 706 participants in its €10,000 main event, the Grand Final, which featured a prize-pool of €6.6 million, surpassing everything that’s ever been organized outside of Las Vegas. The winner of the Grand Final took home €1.85 million, which was another record for European poker.
The series of events the EPT is comprised of, are broadcast on television by Sunset and Vine. If you ever intend to spend a few minutes (or maybe days) in the spotlight as a poker player, this has to be the best opportunity. Qualifying to the EPT is the easiest through PokerStars. As a matter of fact, many of season 3’s winners and money finishers came in through such online PokerStars qualifiers. The winner of the Grand Prize, Gavin Griffin was also such an online qualifier. Other 70 players sent to the event by PokerStars made it into the money. In total there were 564 PokerStars qualifiers, which is an excellent measure of the efficiency of the online qualifying system offered by this poker room.
There are various satellites available for EPT events, all you need to do is download the PokerStars software, get it up and running and select the EPT tab from their "events" section. You'll be able to buy into these events for as little as $5.50 or a mere 111 Frequent Player Points.
Their Steps SNG satellites represent another great way to qualify. Their structure however is very intricate, you’d better check their site for details on that.
