About CD Poker
Important message about CD Poker
CD Poker has stopped accepting new poker players and all CD Poker
players have been transferred to sister brand William Hill Poker.
All links from this review will now direct you to William Hill Poker
, which is a similar poker room to CD Poker and is also part of the iPoker network.
Owned by WHG International Limited, CD Poker operates under a license issued by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner, and runs on the popular iPoker network. The iPoker software is one that puts functionality, security, fairness and integrity above all. The random number generator behind CD Poker’s dealt hands is regularly tested by independent authorities. One of the most popular poker rooms on the network (which is quite an accomplishment considering that Titan Poker and VC Poker are also on the same network), CD Poker attracts quite a bit of traffic.
There are around 50,000 Tournament players at peak hours and an impressive 10,000 players at the cash tables. Game selection is good. They have Holdem, Omaha, and Stud (both 7-card and 5-card versions). The level of the competition is good. There are some pretty loose tables which good players can milk nicely. As far as SNGs go (which do represent the best way to build up a bankroll), CD Poker is probably the best destination in the industry.

CD Poker Software (iPoker software)
CD Poker’s software is a Playtech creation. If you’ve ever played in an iPoker room, you’re probably already familiar with the interface and the controls. The fact that it is a European-oriented operation means that CD Poker’s software is available in several languages (12 to be exact).
Graphically, the user interface is all right. It’s not too impressive because the 3D-like avatars are not available in a large-enough variety to justify their existence. This means you’ll end up playing poker with a lot of cloned look-alikes. Otherwise the color scheme is pleasant and graphics are clean and crisp.
All the statistics offered by CD Poker are industry standard ones (viewed flops, average pots etc). One interesting – and may I add – extremely useful addition is the presence of a graphical hand-history in the chat window.
Multi tabling is possible at 16 tables simultaneously. The software remains stable and there is no loss of speed even when all 16 tables are open. It is also true that its speed is not the least bit impressive anyway, probably on account of the countdown timer which is way to generous with obstructive players.
CD Poker Promotions and Best Bonus
CD Poker gives its first depositors a 150% match on their money, up to a maximum of $500+ $20
. The bonus has to be redeemed through real money play. By generating CD Points, players will be able to unlock their bonus in $10 increments. Every such $10 batch takes 1,200 CD Points to unlock.
CD Points are generated both in cash games (where the dealt rake method is used, which means you’ll earn CD Points even on the hands in which you’re dealt in but do not actively participate). There’s a VIP system in place too. Players with a higher VIP status earn CD Points at an increased speed. Partial CD Points earnings are not paid out. You can check your bonus redemption progress in real time using CD Poker’s “My Account” section.
There are other bonuses offered to CD Poker players too. A reload bonus will sometimes be given to a player who has made a re-deposit of a certain amount, or a number of re-deposits. Reload bonuses need to be redeemed just like the first deposit bonus. The Bad Beat Bonus is another way to get your hands on some bonus money at CD Poker. The person suffering the bad beat needs to lose on a hand of four jacks or better. The loser of the hand gets a $150 bonus, which needs to be claimed through email. There’s also a Best hand of the Day bonus, which gives the best royal flush of the day a cash reward.
CD Poker Tournaments
CD Poker is a tournament heaven. Starting from freerolls through live event satellites and SNGs all the way to guaranteed prize pool tournaments, you’ll find everything here.
Fancy going to one of the Asian poker Tour’s stops in style? CD Poker is offering $6,000 packages to the 2009 APT Manila which is rumored to exceed the $1 million mark for the first time in the history of the tour.
Looking for some live action closer to home? The Irish Poker Open is within your reach if you play at CD poker. Play in the direct access satellite and you may win a package worth $6,500 to an event which will feature a prize-pool of more than €3 million. Play in one of the Jackpot SNGs offered by CD Poker and build up your bankroll.
If you’re looking to pocket serious money, go for the weekly $150,000 GTD or for the $50,000 one. CD Poker is a world of possibilities when you’re looking for tournament action. Sign up and take advantage of it now.
CD Poker Unique Features
CD Poker is on the popular iPoker network and that endows it with a set of features that are uniquely useful in online poker. The graphic hand history that the software offers in the chat window is one such feature. Nowhere is it easier to look after who had what and analyze your mistakes or possible lucky draws than at CD Poker. Add to that the excellent tournament offer and you have a bargain of a deal at CD Poker from several points of view. The live events that CD Poker sends players to are also something to mention in this section. Another nice thing about CD poker is that the rake at some limits is actually better (smaller) than the industry standard.
CD Do Not Accept US Players
Despite the fact that they have a pretty decent amount of traffic, you will not find US players at CD Poker. As a matter of fact, none of the iPoker network members accept Americans. The policy is imposed by the network, so no surprises here…
CD Poker Support
All iPoker rooms feature excellent support systems, and CD Poker is no exception. Reachable via email, live chat or telephone, the support staff is friendly and extremely efficient in sorting out problems.
