Talal Shakerchi Wins SCOOP Main Event

To say that the UK's Talal Shakerchi has had a superb SCOOP would be a major understatement at this point: the poker pro has cashed no fewer than 36 times, and they weren't "shallow" cashes either: he made the final table no fewer than 5 times. All his accomplishments were dwarfed though by the performance he turned in at the Main Event: he won the $10k High event hands down, shipping the $1.46 million top prize and obviously, the bragging rights that always come with such packages. The poker tournament drew a starting field of 713 players, of whom 111 decided to re-buy, so there were a total of 824 buy-ins in the middle. This way, the prize-pool exceeded the $8 million mark, twice as much as the $4 million guarantee. Needless to say, the field was rife with professionals and "name" players. A total of 99 participants walked away with money from this one, with a min-cash worth some $18.4k.

There were so many professionals in the field indeed, that no fewer than 5of them made the final table. In fact, the player who bit the dust as the bubble-boy in 100th place was a pro as well: the "honor " befell Dominik Nitsche.
With the prize-pool this massive, all those who made the final table had a minimum of $104k secured. The one who walked away with exactly that much was EvnomiYa, who busted in 9th. At this point, Schakerchi already had the biggest stack, and he did indeed ride it all the way to the top. Sean Winter was the one he defeated heads-up for the win. Winter took home more than $1 million for his efforts too.
