Even as state-by-state legalization progresses in parts of the country, US-based online poker players have long been deprived of majors with large prize-pools. The buy-in for the tournament is quite standard for this sort of a weekend major: it costs $215 to buy in directly, but there are a large number of qualifiers and sub-qualifiers running. Players will start off stacks of 10k chips - deep enough to give poker skill a definitive edge over the luck-factor - and the winner is guaranteed to take home at least $20k (potentially more).
The Sunday Special kicks off at 3:00 PM EST each Sunday of course. Taking a closer look at the satellite schedule is well worth one's while because earning a seat is indeed possible for no investment at all. There are daily freerolls running (at 12:15 PM), which offer a path into higher-tier qualifiers. Those who want to play for guaranteed seats will have to cough up a buy-in though: every day, there's a $6.6 satellite running too, which guarantees 2 seats and which features a Rebuys/Addons structure.
On Saturdays, there's a $33 Sunday Special Satellite, which hands out no fewer than 10 guaranteed seats. This one may be costlier, but the odds for picking up a seat are obviously bigger in these too. Other than that, On Sundays, there's a qualifier running almost every 10 minutes. Most of these qualifiers cost $23 to enter and they offer one guaranteed seat. An exception is another $33 Sunday Qualifier, which features no fewer than 20 guaranteed seats in the big one.
