Final 3 of 2015 November Nine Set

Monday saw the penultimate day of the
2015 WSOP Main Event and the second day of the November Nine go into the books. 6 players returned to action at the beginning of the day, looking to make it just one day further. The only one who probably had ambitions to go all the way was chip leader Joe McKeehen, whose dominant performance during the previous day and before made him not only the mathematical favorite, but rightfully the crowd-favorite as well.
The first victim of the day hit the rail on the second hand of action and what a cooler it was...Thomas Cannuli was the short-stack and thus he was obviously glad to make the call with pocket rockets, when Max Steinberg pushed all-in with pocket 10s in response to his bet. A major favorite, Cannuli found the 10 which fell on the flop hard to swallow. His 6th place was worth $1.42 million.

The only non-US player left in contention was Israel's Ofer Zvi Stern, who found himself the short-stack at the end of hand #98. Eventually, he put his tournament life onto the line with an A,Jo against Neil Blumenfeld's A,Ko. The turn landed a K and Stern was done too, his reward $1.91 million.
The last victim of the day was Max Steinberg, who was bounced by the chip leader, McKeehen. The two of them got the chips into the middle on a hand which saw Steinberg's A,Jo go up against McKeehen's A,Qo. The board blanked out again (as it did so many times on the previous day when McKeehen was involved in do-or-die hands) and Steinberg was out, with $2.6 million to show for his efforts.
