It's safe to say that winning the Main Event of the
WSOP and taking down a prize like this year's $7.68 million, would be a superb career-culmination for every poker player, so much so in fact that many would consider simply riding off into the sunset with the money. November Niner Tom Cannuli - who is already guaranteed a nice chunk of change as it is - is not one of these players. While he says he respects everyone who's in it for the money, on his part, he aims to build up a massive legacy. Being in it for the love of the game means anything short of winning the title hands-down will be a failure for him come the November showdown.
Even if he does manage to take down the big one, Cannuli will only view it as the first step of a longer journey, one that he hopes will lead him right into the poker Hall of Fame, as one of the greatest to have played the game.

In the beginning, he wasn't driven by lofty ideas such as his legacy and a HoF presence. Even after he had secured his presence at the coveted final table, he had doubts about whether he would ever return after the conclusion of the November Nine, but he then realized that making poker glory his calling made perfect sense for him.
He starts out with 12.25 million chips, just 6th, but with an attitude like this, he is indeed someone to keep an eye on...
