PartyPoker.net WPT Montreal Reaches Money

The second day of the WPT's PartyPoker-sponsored Montreal stop, hosted by the Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, saw 294 players return to the tables to possibly sneak past the money-bubble, which is exactly what has been accomplished. The end of the day saw just 63 players left standing. Given that a total of 81 players would end up being paid, that mark was indeed well past the bubble. It took the field quite a while to play down to this landmark though: more pecisely 8 one-hour levels.
The hand which essentially burst the money-bubble, was one in which Darryll Fish's Ad, Kd went up against Martin Bailey's pocket 10s in a classic coin-flip. Three more diamonds landed on the board to give Fish a diamond flush and the win, sending Bailey packing in 82nd place.

The player who finished the day with the most chips was Harpreet Gill, who had some 993k bagged at the end of the green felt hostilities. Trevor Delaney came pretty close to that mark too: he finished with 968k chips to his name. Several "name" pros made the cut on Day 2, among them Brian Altman, who finished with 423k chips, Cornel Cimpan (415k), Anthony Zinno, Darren Elias, Freddy Deeb, Jeff Madsen and Mike Linster.
Quite a few of the pros were bounced on Day 2 too, some of them after the money-bubble had burst. PokerStars' Liv Boeree was one of these players: she collected $7k for her 70th place. She survived Mike McDonald, who finished 71st, picking up $7k as well. Others, like Will Failla, Antonio Esfandiari and Jonathan Duhamel ended up outside of the money. They were joined by Mike Watson, Kevin MacPhee and Jeff Gross among others.
