WPT UK Main Event - Day 3 Report
Posted by: James Carter. - Sat, 2015-11-07 05:10
The third day of the World Poker Tour's 2015 UK Main Event saw 59 players return to the tables, with the obvious goal of playing down to what will probably be the penultimate day of the
poker tournament. Indeed, at the end of the day, only 18 players were left standing, among them chip leader Chi Zhang, who ended up with more than 2 million chips bagged. Zhang's current grip on the top of the chip-counts is rather impressive: second-place man Robert Davies only finished with a little over 1.3 million chips to his name. Joseph Townsend ended up in 3rd place with 1.25 million chips. The only other player who managed to climb over the 1 million chip mark was Andrew Seden, who had 1.06 million bagged in 4th place.
Among the 18 Day 3 survivors, there are a number of notables too, like WSOP bracelet-winner Crain McCorkell, Mitchell Johnson, Ben Winson and Fraser Bellamy.

The current chip leader is no stranger to live poker success either: back in August, Zhang finished 3rd in the UKIPT's Bristol Main Event, taking down a £26.5k prize. Day 3 saw the bursting of the money bubble. The unfortunate bubble-boy was Carl Fitzpatrick, who got sent home with nothing to show for his efforts. Thus, all 18 survivors are guaranteed a minimum payout of £10.2k.
Day 4 of the event is scheduled for Saturday and the plan is for the field to play down to the final 6. Once that objective is reached, the action will be paused one more time. The final table will return on Sunday, to play down to a winner.
