MicroMillions 6 Main Event – “TheManM” Wins

On Sunday, the tournament action was much hotter than usually at
PokerStars, thanks to the $22 Main Event of the MicroMillions 6. With it, the 6th edition of the popular tournament series came to an end. Scheduled as the 100th
poker tournament of the series, the Main Event featured a $1 million guarantee, including a $150k guaranteed first-place prize. Unfortunately, this time around, no one picked up the full $150k prize, despite the fact that the 65,397 registrants created a prize-pool in excess of $1.3 million, well above the actual guarantee. The reason why no one got to take home $150k was a 3-way deal at the top, which saw the eventual winner, TheManM from Brazil, walk away with $126k. The winner’s share didn’t even turn out to be the biggest profit of the tournament: that honor went to 3rd place finisher ZAR84, who took home $128.8k. Everything accounted for, in the end there were three really happy 6-figure winners. Runner-up kabukiboy was the third-biggest winner, having taken down a $118k reward.
The deal struck by the remaining three players was one mediated by final table host Tyler Frost, who presented the three players with various stats needed to hammer out an agreement. ZAR84 didn’t exactly want to buy into it at the beginning as he was looking to take home at least $130k. Eventually, the other two players gave up some money from their ICM shares to appease the reluctant party. After the agreement had been reached, there was $20k left in the middle to play for.
Following the elimination of ZAR84, kabukiboy reached the heads-upstage of the event with a pretty decent chip lead. TheManM fought back though, took over the lead and he eventually put the tournament away, after his Q,Jo defeated his opponent’s A,7o in the last hand of the event.
