The Poker Grapevine – Dwan Addresses “Lederer Files”

The “Lederer Files”, a set of interview segments done with Full Tilt Poker’s Howard Lederer in relation to the Black Friday problems and the general meltdown that followed them at Full Tilt Poker, has raised quite a bit of ruckus online as Lederer seemed to single out certain players who then felt it was their duty to defend themselves against the allegations at various
poker forums and community hubs. Other members of the community have chimed in on one or the other side of the issue. The bottom line was that – as expected – most of those who decided to go vocal were obviously against Lederer’s statements. Is Lederer the scapegoat he’s made out to be though? Apparently not everyone involved with Full Tilt Poker disagrees with him.
A couple of days ago, Tom Dwan finally decided to break his silence on the Full Tilt issue and he launched a series of tweets, most of which – rather surprisingly – supported what Lederer had said in the interview.
In a nutshell, Dwan said that he thought most of what Lederer had said was true and that he had gotten the same information from other – independent – sources before. He said that although Lederer had emphasized the wrong things here and there through the interview, on the whole, he thought he was saying the truth.
The “Lederer Files” deal is far from over apparently as the ex-Full Tilt executive is preparing for other interviews with other popular poker portals in the near future.
In other news: miracles apparently still exist in the online poker world. A Russian micro stakes player known by the online moniker “maratik” has managed to win a seat into a $5.2k WCOOP event, a seat which he then managed to turn into a $1 million prize. He didn’t just get the money only either: he was crowned a WCOOP champ and will probably become the poster child of rags to riches online poker stories everywhere.
