There’s nothing more exciting than heads-up play and there’s no-one lovelier than Annie Duke. Put the two together and you’ve got one heck of a competition with a great prize-pool.
Annie Duke is a legend in her own right; glamorous but deadly at the poker tables she has a WSOP bracelets under her belt, 37 cash finishes, and was the winner of the 2010 NBC Heads Up Poker Championship; not necessarily a woman you want to be messing with especially when there’s a $128,000 guaranteed prize-pool to be had. None-the less she’s exactly the pro that you may have to knock down in order to get your hands on the cash in the Annie Duke Heads-Up Challenge at UB Poker. UB is inviting all members of its online poker community to take part in the Heads-Up Challenge on the last Sunday of the month, but you probably already heard through the poker forum that the buy-in for the tournament is $1,000. With such a hefty buy-in we figured it worthwhile to prepare you early for the event so you can either start saving those pennies, or you can checkout the online poker sites satellites.
The satellites are better than usual for the event this month because you can actually get there through free poker tournaments. In addition to the free poker play there’s also buy-in satellites started from around $8 + 0.80. The freebies will be running on both May 23rd and May 24th at 1 pm and at the same time there will be $1 + 0.10 tournaments running too. Each of these four tournaments will result in one seat for the Heads-Up Challenge. In addition to giving you the seat, if you win a seat through one of these tournaments and go on to knock out Annie Duke herself UB Poker will give you an additional congratulatory $1,500 in Tournament Dollars. Even if you don’t qualify through one of these tournaments you still have a chance to win an extra prize. Whoever knocks Annie Duke out of the Challenge will be given a seat in the next Sunday $150k guaranteed tournament.
The seats for the satellites are limited, so get downloading, get depositing, and get playing; the online poker community is gearing up for a battle; only you can tell if you’ve got what it takes.
