Giving something back is the most rewarding thing in the world; at UB Poker you can help others whilst having a great time yourself with the Second Sunday Charity Tournament.
Being part of a community gives you great perks, but there’s also a larger picture to consider, and this picture is one that members of the UB online poker community are encouraged to jump into. For all of the fun of poker play, we can sometimes bring about some greater good by having fun, and this is where the UB Second Sundays Charity Tournaments come in. The Second Sundays Charity Tournaments run on every second Sunday of ever single month; they take place at 2:45 pm ET, and each month a different charity is benefited. You might have heard of these poker tournaments on the poker forum, but now you have the opportunity to take part; and there might be some free poker and some free prizes to win as well.
The buy-in for the tournament is $10 creating $2,150 in prize pool money. However if you knock out poker pro Joe Sebok you will be awarded a seat to the UB $7k Guaranteed Tournament that will take place on the same day as the Charity Tournament. In addition to the the free poker opportunities, the winner will also be awarded with a UB gear bag. The money raised from the tournament entries is matched by UB and the cash is donated to the charity of the month. In the past the funds have gone to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program, and the San Antonio AIDS Foundation amongst others. This month however the beneficiary will be the National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association. The National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association works to create a cure and treatment for Tay-Sacs, Canavan, and other related genetic diseases in addition to offering support to the families of sufferers.
Even without the free poker opportunities and the UB goodie bag, this is a good bounty tournament, with everything to play for, and hey, if you can do a little good en route then why not. Spread the word on the poker forums; Sunday June 13th, 2.45 pm ET, do your bit!
