Stakes turn serious in FTOPS event #6

Event #6 of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series was a PL Omaha 6-Max one, featuring a hefty buy-in of $500+$35. Despite the size of the buy-in, interest among the public was great and no fewer than 896 players registered to easily top the guarantee.
This way, the total prize-pool almost reached $500k, and the first place finisher had a $95,648 prize secured. Better known players who achieved notable finishes were: Nicholas Blumenthal, who finished in 7th place, Dan Bozgon in 14th and Phil Collins in 13th.

Because it was a 6-max tournament, there were only 6 players at the final table too: NoPasaran, ATLANTIS_DK, KipsterDK, Ketse, The Great Hug and THE_GOLDMINE (Jay Kinkade). The short-stack was The Great Hug with 394,876 chips.
The first player to go from the final table was the chip leader, KipsterDK though, as he bled his chips away pretty fast and eventually collided with NoPasaran for his last hand of the tournament. The money went all-in on the turn, as the board read: 5,3,10,K. KipsterDK had a pair of 10s and a straight draw, while NoPasaran had a set of Ks and a nut flush draw. The river didn’t change anything and thus KipsterDK headed for the rail in 6th.

Given the size of his initial stack, The Great Hug was probably glad he managed to survive a player at the final table. He was the next to leave though, eliminated by the same NoPasaran who looked well on course for winning it all. The Great Hug’s straight draw proved to be no match for his middle pair and another player was sent to the rail.

NoPasaran then went on to knock out ATLANTIS_DK in 4th place, sending THE_GOLDMINE quickly after him to keep him company on the rail.
Heading into the heads-up stage, NoPasaran held a roughly 4-1 lead over Ketse. The final hand of the event saw NoPasaran’s nut flush defeat whatever Ketse had (he never showed it), and thus the $95K first prize has found an owner, in the player who single handedly eliminated all the other final table participants for the sweep.
