FTOPS XXI – Day 3 Report

The third day of Full Tilt Poker’s recently revived Full Tilt Online Poker Series saw three players crowned winners again.
Event #5, the PL Holdem/Omaha 6-max one, was the first one that played down to a winner. 495 players paid out the $216 buy-in, as the event became the first one of the Series which failed to cover its guarantee, set to $100k. Several notables played in the poker tournament, and many of them managed to finish in the money too: Alex Kostritsyn was one of these players. Brandon Meyers and Jacob Bazeley put in some deep runs as well. Bazeley’s performance was somewhat overshadowed by the fact that he busted on the bubble of the final table. Only relatively unknown players made the final stretch. The eventual winner, Mikeler, pocketed $18k for his efforts, after he struck a heads-up deal with the runner-up, TheKoalabear.

Event #6, the $216 HORSE one, drew a starting field of 377 players. The resulting prize-pool was a $75.4k one, putting the initial guarantee of $25k clear to shame.
This event saw no deals made at the top. The winner, mrcall912, took home $18.6k for his efforts. The runner-up was a player known as “knluiy”, who earned $12.5k.
Deep-finishing notables were Chance Kornuth and Paul Volpe. Brazil’s Thiago Nishima barely managed a min-cash.

The third event to crown a winner was the $322 NL Holdem Super Turbo Knockout Multi-Entry event, which saw 1,391 players belly up to its tables. The prize-pool of this tournament was a $336.6 one, which pretty much doubled the initial guarantee of $150k.
There weren’t any deals made in this event either: the winner, errr_rick, took home $79.5k. He bested Tom1211HH heads-up. The second place man’s share of the loot was $50.6k. Andras Nemeth finished 5th in this one.
