FTOPS XXII – Day 3 Report

The 3rd day of the 22nd FTOPS saw 3 more events go into the books, as planned. Event #6, the $216 PLO H/L Six-Max event, featured a guarantee of $75k. It almost goes without saying that the resulting prize-pool of the poker tournament blew clear past that guarantee: the 427 registrants combined buy-ins to create a prize-pool of $85.4k. The event had a 3-way deal at the top, which saw the eventual winner, PimpDaddyDolla, walk away with a $14.6k prize. The winner bested MarcelezaBH heads-up. The runner-up pocketed $13.4k, while the third-place man, 7ralf7, took home $12k. None of the other players finished in 5 figures. Brandon Meyers was the highest finishing notable: he took home $1.1k for his 12th place.

Event #7, the $322 Razz event, saw 236 players belly up to its tables. The initial guarantee of the event was a $50k one, which was easily surpassed by the resulting $70.8k prize-pool.
There weren’t any deals made in this event: the eventual winner, motion713, took home the full share of the top dog: $19.4k. Runner-up galinka02 was rewarded with $13k. None of the other players managed to break into 5-figure territory.

Event #8, the $216 NL Holdem Turbo Rush event was responsible for the biggest winner of the day. The tournament featured a guarantee of $150k, but the 900 entrants created a prize-pool of $180k.
Given the fact that it was a Rush and a Turbo event, event #8 has gone down in history as the shortest ever FTOPS event: it only took 2 hours and about 15 minutes to play down to a winner. The winner of the event was Vampyboy, who made no deals and who beat a slew of “name” players on his way to the top. His haul was a $41.4k one.
