2013 WSOP – Day 5 Action

Day 5 of the 2013 WSOP was a productive one bracelets-wise: two more players earned their WSOP bling: John Beauprez, who won event #4 and Mike Gorodinsky, whose triumph came in event #5.
Event #6 saw action as well. The Millionaire Maker - the starting field of which beat all non-Main Event records - put the money-bubble behind it. Two new events got underway.

Event #4, the $1.5k NL Holdem 6-handed event, saw 7 players return to action on its final day. The first player to bite the dust setting the official final table, was Zohar Spivack, whose A,Jo fell to the eventual champion’s pocket Js.
Keven Stammen was the first victim of the final table. His 6th place was worth $39.3k. Mike Mustafa followed him to the rail, followed in turn by Joe Cada. Cada picked up $83.5k for his efforts. Eric Blair was the first player to break into 6-figure territory: his 3rd place was worth $127.3k. The heads-up stage of the tournament saw Manig Loeser lock horns with John Beauprez. In the final hand of the event, Beauprez took a bad beat to hand his opponent the pot and with it the bracelet.

Event #5, the $2.5k Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or better one, saw a bunch of name players return on its final day. PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu was still in the running, together with Mike Matusow and George Danzer. Matusow was bounced in 14th place, followed by Negreanu whose demise came in an Omaha 8 round, at the hands of the eventual winner.
The heads-up stage of the tournament saw Gorodinsky square off against Kristopher Tong. The final hand was a Stud-8 one, which saw Gorodinsky make a straight for the win.

Event #6, the Millionaire Maker, played past its money-bubble as it became clear that the winner would take home $1,198,780 Play at PokerStars to gain access to the WSOP 2013 qualifiers which offer cheap seats to various WSOP events.
