The second day of the $2.5k Limit Holdem Six-handed event of the
2013 WSOP saw 10 full levels of action, at the end of which 12 players were left standing. The one to have the most chips bagged was Danny Le, who will start the last day of the
poker tournament with 421k chips. The makeup of the field that advanced to Day 3 is a truly impressive one indeed: Maria Ho was among the Day 2 survivors, together with Juha Helppi and David Baker. Ho finished the day with 291k chips to her name, while Helppi had 200k bagged and Baker finished with 178k. While the final 12 features a star-studded lineup indeed, there were quite a number of “name” players whose tournament lives ended on Day 2.
Max Pescatori was one of them. Jon Turner busted in 32nd place, while Jeffrey Lisandro, who is known throughout the poker world for his WSOP Player of the Year title, finished 30th.
The first major landmark of the day was the money bubble. It was reached about halfway through the day, and it burst quickly, landing the 36 players who were the survivors at that point, in the money. The action had been fast before the bubble too, but with it out of the way, it accelerated even further.
The eyes of the press will certainly be on players like David Baker and Maria Ho, whose stacks position them among the front runners, but Mike Watson will be back as well, lurking further down the chip counts with 115k chips to his name. Jason Rivkin is still alive as well, although his stack of only 88k chips makes him one of the short-stacks. Unless he manages to get something going early on Day 3, he won’t make any waves.
