PartyPoker Software to Undergo Major Overhaul

Back in the days following the 2006 UIGEA and their fall from the top of the online poker world,
PartyPoker were reluctant to overhaul their software. Thus, for quite a while there, theirs was one of the most dated-looking interfaces in
online poker. Apparently, they do not wish to be one of the longest hold-outs in this respect again, as they’re planning another radical overhaul of their software, graphics-wise as well in regards to the functions it offers. Ever since they lost their top-dog status, PartyPoker have been focusing increasingly on the recreational player, and their software overhaul – which had initially been rumored to be implemented this spring – is a reflection of that market-approach.
The new PartyPoker software is obviously aiming far above and beyond a look and feel-change. It is meant to radically alter the entire gaming experience, to suit the needs and expectations of the modern digital consumer, and if it’s not clear what they really mean by that, yes, it’s about the integration of more social media features.
The look of the poker table itself will be altered: it will be cleaner and sleeker and the same goes for the player avatars. The table menu will also be much cleaner and easier to use.
The lobby will have a one-click feature, and large, clunky graphics possibly meant to induce some mobile-friendliness into the setup. Players will be offered a one-click option to open a table, based on bankroll management considerations.
From the images made available to the media by PartyPoker it’s clear that the company is aiming to kill several birds with this overhaul stone. It is looking to become more mobile-friendly, while embracing social media, in possible preparation for its US market re-entry.
The new software and its features do in fact appear attractive enough to make PartyPoker one of the top destinations for US players from the point of view of the game experience.
