PCA Schedule Announced

The PCA (PokerStars Caribbean Adventure) is the biggest live poker Series the entire poker world is looking forward to at the beginning of each year. Taking place in January, the PCA isn’t just one of the EPT’s stops, and it isn’t a simple poker festival either. It is a great opportunity for poker players based in the northern hemisphere to escape winter. The PCA has been getting bigger and bigger each year and now that PokerStars have finally announced the schedule of the 2014 edition, it is safe to say that the tradition will be continued. The upcoming edition of the PCA will feature 39 events, and a Main Event which costs a massive $10.3k to enter. The great news about the Main Event is that for the first time ever, it will feature a guarantee of $10 million.

Set to kick off on January 5 and to run till January 13, the 2014 PCA will see the $100k Super High Roller return, together with the $25.5k High Roller.
How safe a bet is it though on the part of the organizers to up the guarantee of the Main Event to $10 million for the first time? Won’t there be a layover? Considering the history of the poker tournament, the bet is indeed as safe as it could possibly be: four times the prize-pool shot past the $10 million mark, in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. To add a little suspense to the equation, the 2013 Main Event only had a 9.6 million prize-pool, but it’s safe to say that the extra hype the announcement has already generated will easily cover the difference.

Last year, 987 players bellied up to the tables, and the organizers haven’t made a secret about the fact that the aim of the first-time guarantee is to smash that number to pieces.
Sign up to PokerStars and win a PCA 2014 seat for a handful of change.
