WSOP-E – Day 4 Report

The 4th day of the World Series of Poker Europe had two events see action: Event #2, which rolled into its second day and Event #3, the €5.3k Mixed Max NL Holdem one, which kicked off.

Event #2, the €1.1k NL Holdem Re-Entry one, played down to its final table. The player who clinched the chip lead in this one was Henrik Johansson, who had a stack of 587k chips bagged. Although he is not new to tournament poker, Johansson’s career earnings thus far aren’t particularly impressive. He is guaranteed to add at least €12.1k now though, but he may go as high as €129.7k if he manages to win it all. Another player who had an excellent Day 2 and will start the final table with a more than decent-sized stack is Daniel Weinman of the US, who had 408k chips bagged. Daniel Laidlaw was the only other notable to make the home stretch of the event: he finished with 357k chips, enough for 3rd place.
The first and biggest obstacle of Day 2 was the money bubble and when it burst it burst in a spectacular manner: two players, Trevor Bartlett and Sergio Aido busted in the same hand, dividing the 72nd place reward.
Players who busted within the money were Barry Greenstein, Sam Holden, Jonathan Karamalikis and Chino Rheem.

Event #3 got going with 135 players at its tables. Registration for the poker tournament is scheduled to stay open till the beginning of Day 2, so the officials are optimistic that the field will grow further.
67 players were left standing at the end of the day. The player who finished with the largest stack in this one was Matt O’Donnell of the US, who had 73.4k chips bagged.
Ville Matilla finished with a large stack as well (70.1k chips), as did Phil Hellmuth and Chris Klodnicki.
