More Names Released by GPI in Regards to Their Player of the Decade Project

A couple of days ago we told you about the ambitious Player of the Decade project the Global Poker Index has embarked on, and we released the names of the first three players from the top 9 countdown. Phil Ivey, JC Tran and Shannon Shorr were the ones who made the list, and now the names of no fewer than 4 other players have been released by the GPI.
In 6th place, right above Shorr, we have PokerStars’ Bertrand Grospellier, one of the most successful
online poker players ever. Having made the jump from Starcraft to online poker, Grospellier was no stranger to grinding and to taking calculated risks. The 32 year old Frenchman was the only European to make the PoD list. Although his poker career was slow to get rolling, he took down the PCA in 2008, pocketing a $2 million prize and establishing himself as a perpetual main-eventer.
In 5th place, we have John Juanda, whose presence so close to the top is a bit of a surprise, especially considering that he isn’t even currently in the GPI’s top 300. His 2013 run was rather abysmal as well (it was his weakest of the last 10 years), but he is a 5-time
WSOP bracelet winner and one has got to give credit where credit is indeed due.
4th place went to Barry Greenstein. Greenstein has indeed been one of the staple protagonists of the high stakes poker world. He has logged 17 wins in his career, of which 16 came during the decade currently being considered by the GPI’s Eric Danis, so his 4th place is indeed fully justified.
In 3rd place we have one of the hottest players of the last couple of years: Michael Mizrachi. All of the Grinder’s 23 career wins came in the last decade.
