The Online Poker Weekend – Mickey Petersen among Winners

Having just come back from the 2014 PCA, PokerStars pro Mickey Petersen hit the virtual green felt, looking for serious money to take down and indeed, he managed to do just that this past weekend, although his jackpot came not from PokerStars, but rather from Full Tilt Poker, where he won the Sunday Brawl, taking down a $52.1k prize. Having logged just his first day of online poker action since the PCA, Petersen didn’t take it easy at all. He got busy at PokerStars.fr too, where he won a €200 six-max event, taking down another €5k prize. Several other notables made deep runs over the weekend, but the biggest winner of the Sunday major series was yet again the winner of PokerStars’ Sunday Million, a player known only by the online moniker “Geramas.G”.
The Sunday Million saw 7,919 players belly up to its tables. The resulting prize-pool tipped the scales at $1.58 million. There was a 3-way deal at the top, which obviously skewed the payouts a bit. The share of the winner was $210k. SvenskTruita finished second for $150.4k, and blackaces94 was 3rd, picking up $170.1k. The highest-finishing notable in this event was Torsten Brinkmann, who picked up $3.4k for his 21st place.

The Sunday Warm-Up created another 6-figure winner. 3,828 players coughed up the buy-in in this one, creating a prize-pool of $725.6k. The winner, a player known as “Carster”, walked away with $104.3k, despite a heads-up deal he had made with runner-up GAWA9. The share of the second place man was $94.5k.

Mickey Petersen’s win came in the Sunday Brawl at Full Tilt Poker, which saw 1,303 players belly up to the tables. Petersen made no deals on his way to the top: the one he bested heads-up was Christian Jeppsson. Jeppsson’s reward was $34.7k.

Sign up to Full Tilt Poker. Besides the top-notch cash game action, the site also offers some pretty decent weekend majors.
