While Day 25 of the WSOP failed to award any bracelets, on Day 26, no fewer than 3 pieces of prized jewelry found their way to their respective owners. Indeed, on Day 25, several events played down close to their conclusion, so the prize-shower that ensued on Day 26 was quite expected.
Event #39, the $3k
NL Holdem one, was one of the tournaments which managed to play down to a winner. Sean Dempsey was the one who walked away with the gold from this one, having survived an initial starting field of 992 players. Dempsey’s financial windfall tipped the scale at $548.4k. The player he defeated heads-up for the title was Ryan Giaconetti, who walked away with $339.4k of his own.
Other players who made deep runs in the event were Jacob Schindler, who ended up third for $212.3k and Ryan Olisar, whose efforts were enough to land him in 4th place for a $154.1k prize.

Another event which yielded a winner on Day 26 was event #40, the $10k NL Holdem Heads-Up championship event, in which Davide Suriano rose to the top, having defeated Sam Stein heads-up. The event had played down to the last two players standing the day before, so it was only the question of a heads-up runoff to determine the winner on Day 26. Suriano’s cut of the prize-pool was a handsome $335.5k.
Event #41, the $1.5k 6-handed Dealer’s Choice one, wrapped up as well, with Robert Mizrchi’s victory. Mizrachi, who took down his second WSOP gold, walked away with a $147k prize. Loser of the heads-up bout at the end and runner-up in the event was Aaron Schaff, whose second place was worth $90.8k.
