On Saturday, Kevin MacPhee added another major accomplishment to his trophy-case, by winning the 2015 Main Event of the
World Series of Poker Europe in Berlin. The bracelet which came with the win was MacPhee's second one of the year and the €883k prize wasn't something to scoff at either. He beat an initial starting field of 312 players. Having built up a massive stack on the penultimate day of action, MacPhee was the obvious favorite going into the home stretch and thus the pressure was indeed on him to win.
The first victim of the day was Felix Bleiker, not exactly a surprise, considering the fact that he was by far the shortest stack at the final table. He was eventually forced to commit all his chips on a Q,Jo, and predictably, he lost out to David Lopez's A,8o.

The next one to bite the dust was local player Kilian Kramer, who gave MacPhee a boost by dropping all his chips to him. Andrew Lichtenberger - one of the potentially most challenging opponents for MacPhee, was bounced next, followed to the rail by JC Alvarado. MacPhee was the one responsible for Lichtenberger's elimination, while Alvarado was bounced by Lopez. That move gave Lopez a large enough stack to allow him to battle MacPhee heads-up from a mere 2-1 chip disadvantage.
At one point, he even managed to grab the lead, but eventually MacPhee came roaring back and this time around the lead he built was an overwhelming one. The final hand of the tournament saw MacPhee's weak Ace defeat Lopez's pocket Ks for the win.
