2011 WSOP Main Event – Final Table Reached

Konstantinos Mamaliadis started the 8th day of the 2011 WSOP Main Event on a decent stack and he made decent progress in the beginning, but as the ever-increasing blinds poured on the pressure, he soon found himself with just 4 million of his initial 8.1 million chips still in his possession.
The hand that sealed his fate in 13th place was one in which Eoghan O’Dea fired out a raise from the cut-off. On the button, Mamaliadis decided that he would try to pick up the blinds and the antes and shoved all-in holding 8,2o.
Unfortunately for him, O’Dea had pocket 7s. The board did give Mamaliadis an 8 on the river, but that same card filled O’Dea’s straight, and Mamaliadis was done.

12th place went to Bryan Devonshire, who busted out at the hands of Eoghan O’Dea after his Kd, Qd was bested by O’Dea’s Ad, Qd. The board blanked out and Devonshire was done in 12th place.
Khoa Nguyen had a decent stack of 8 million + when he decided he needed to chip up some more and shoved all-in holding pocket 10s. Martin Staszko must have welcomed the move: he had pocket Ks. The board brought a bunch of bricks and Nguyen was bounced too.

Down to 10 players, the action really kicked into high gear. Several players took hard hits to their stacks and then rebounded to stave off elimination. Matt Giannetti was one of those guys.
Jason Hewitt was the one who eventually became the November nine bubble boy. He only had 3.9 million chips when he made his last stand against Eoghan ODea. He had pocket 3s and O’Dea called him with K,J. The flop fell Q,10,7. The A on the turn sealed the deal for good.
Martin Staszko will start the final table with the chip lead: he managed to amass 40.1 million chips. Ben Lamb, Pius Heinz, Samuel Holden, Eoghan O’Dea, Anton Makievskyi, Matt Gianetti, Phil Collins and Badih Bounahra are the other November Nine members.

abc poker and by the very passive play it looks like low seakts..sng and tourney's it all comes to late phase agression, alltough pounding from the start in a tourney isnt that bad of a strategy, but sure does not work in single table sng's.
