2012 WSOP – Day 28 Report

Day 28 of the 2012 WSOP saw 5 events roll on, of which two ended up in bracelets. Event #39, he $10k PLO one, was the first one to play down to a winner. Jan-Peter Jachtmann was the winner of this event. The other bracelet-crowned tournament was event #40, the $2.5k Limit Holdem Six-handed event, in which Ronnie Bardah rose to the top. The $10k PLO event saw 13 players return to its tables. Sam Farha was among them, unfortunately for him though, he failed to even make the 9-handed final table. Jason Mercier on the other hand, made the final table just fine. He ran out of steam in 8th place, picking up $72k for his efforts.
Andrew Brown and Jan-Peter Jachtmann made the heads-up stage of the event. The last hand of the tournament saw Jachtmann’s straight triumph over his opponent’s multiple draws. Jachtmann picked up $661k for his deed, while the runner-up had to settle for $408k.

The second bracelet of the day found its way into its owner’s pockets in the $2.5k Limit Holdem Six-handed event. Only 10 players returned to the felt on the last day of the tournament. Terrence Chan and Sorel Mizzi were both in the field, together with Rep Porter, Joep van den Bijggart and Chad Brown. Ronnie Bardah got off to a flying start though, and starting with his first hand of the day, he pulled away and never bothered looking back.
Of the ‘name’ player crowd mentioned above, Mizzi made it the furthest: he busted in 5th place, taking home a $33.5k prize. Marco Johnson was the one whom Bardah defeated heads-up, on his way to the top and the $182k prize.
Johnson was rewarded with $112.5k for his runner-up spot.

Event #41, the $3k NL Holdem one, saw around 300 players belly up to its tables. Towards the end of the day, that field had whittled down to 30. Joseph Chaplin finished with the chip lead.
