A total of five events saw action on day 33 of the
2012 WSOP, of which no fewer than 3 played down to their respective bracelets. The day was definitely an outstanding one for several reasons: first of all, the three bracelets represented quite an impressive achievement indeed, secondly, the winner of one of those bracelets was none other than Michael Mizrachi, who won the $50k Poker Players Championship event, the same one he had won last year as well.
Eight players reconvened on the final day of the event, and Mizrachi held the lead at the beginning of the day. The short stacks got busy early and as a consequence, they began hitting the rail straight away. Bill Chen and Bruno Fitoussi both bit the dust on the third hand of the day, courtesy of the ‘Grinder’ himself.
Eventually, it was all down to Mizrachi vs Chris Klodnicki and by that stage, Mizrachi was unstoppable. He picked up $1,451,527 for his win. The runner-up was rewarded with $896.9k.
The second bracelet-yielding event of the day was event #47, the $1.5k PLO 8 or better split event. 10 players returned to action. The winner was Steve Loube, who bested Timothy Finne heads-up for the $267.3k prize and the jewelry. Finne picked up $165.4k for his efforts. A noteworthy fact was that for Loube, this was the first ever WSOP tournament in which he played, so thus far his record is 100% indeed.
The third bracelet of the day found its owner in the $3k Limit Holdem event (#48). Paul Berende was the one who started the day with the lead, but he eventually ran out of steam in 4th place, picking up $57.3k for his efforts. The fate of the bracelet was eventually decided between Robert Hwang and Kenny Hsiung. The latter was the one to triumph: his win was worth $165.2k. The runner up was rewarded with $102.1k.
