We continue our countdown of the best poker/online poker moments of 2013 with the WSOP-C. Indeed, the
World Series of Poker Circuit has come a long way in its last two seasons, and it is now looking better than ever. The 2012-2013 season saw record starting fields and prize-pools as well as winners, and the 2013-2014 season is thus far shaping up to be even better than that.
According to specialists, some of the credit for the success of the WSOP-C should go to a select group of grinders who have dominated the series and who have shown that WSOP-C success was indeed within the reach of the everyday Joes.
Of course, the low buy-ins and the excellent ROI offered by most of the WSOP-C stops was also part of the recipe of success. Besides being accessible for recreational players, and giving them the chance to play for big bucks, the WSOP-C has also proved to be a stepping stone for some of its more successful players.
Jonathan Taylor was one of the players who’ve managed to move on to greater things thanks to their WSOP-C success. Taylor took down three WSOP-C gold rings and cashed in no fewer than 10 events before he began aiming higher by heading out to the WSOP this summer. There, he found success pretty much straight away: he won a $1.5k
NL Holdem event, taking down a top prize of $454.4k. He didn’t have any more cashes, but he did get his first bracelet, taking his WSOP-C success story full circle.
Bryan Campanello was another player who used the WSOP-C as a springboard for bigger things. Campanello only started playing in the WSOP-C in 2013, and he only scored a single ring (as well as quite a few cashes) before he moved on to the WSOP, and won the $2.5k Razz event of the 2013 WSOP for $178k.
