Day 4 of event #58, the $1,111 Little One for One Drop, was an extremely short affair: it only took the field 3 hours to play down to a winner, and that winner was Brian Yoon, who took down the bracelet and the $663.7k top prize. 8 players returned to the final table of the
poker tournament on its last day and it became obvious from the get go that they were indeed set on playing down to the winner as quickly as possible. Nobody was shy to push the chips into the middle and that’s exactly what they did, starting with the very first hand of the day. Cuong Van Nguyen got his chips into the middle against Alex Case as soon as the green light was given and he managed to catch a more than welcome double-up right away. Case didn’t last long after that. Crippled, he bit the dust a few hands later. The next player to head to the rail was Kevin O’Donnell, who thusly ended up in 7th place.
6th place went to Joe Morneau: he was bounced by the eventual winner, Yoon, after his 9,8o fell to the latter’s Ah, 8h. Morneau picked up $122.9k for his efforts.
This pot got Yoon going and a few hands later he was at the center of the action yet again, pushing yet another draw, this time against start of the day chip leader Nghi Tran. He managed to hit a straight on the turn, crippling Tran and securing a dominating lead for himself. Tran was eliminated a few hands later.
Yoon then busted Justin Zaki in 4th place. Roland Israelashvili’s elimination in 3rd place set up the heads-up stage of the event.
It only took Yoon 11 hands to dispose of Van Nguyen heads-up. The share of the runner-up was $408.6k.
