2013 WSOP – Danny Fuhs Wins Event #25

Event #25 managed to play down to its winner today and its $277.5k top prize ended up in Danny Fuhs’ possession. After two long days of green felt battles, 27 players returned to decide the fate of the bracelet on the third day. Like all the other events thus far, the $5k Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or better event featured a field rife with “name” competitors, many of whom were among the 27 returning on Day 3 of the poker tournament. Huck Seed, Dario Aliotto, Maria Ho and Eric Crain were all among the survivors. Dan Kelly added another Day 3 presence to his 2013 WSOP record. Like in every event in which he’d made it to day 3 thus far though, Kelly failed to make a truly deep run, fading away in 20th place. Even though he once again left the event prematurely, Kelly made his 7th WSOP 2013 cash.

The more the event played on, the faster the pace of eliminations got. Mike Matusow, George Danzer and Alexander Kostritsyn were all eliminated before the official final table was reached. It took the field more than an hour after the final 10 was reached to break the bubble. The final table bubble-boy was none other than Jonathan Duhamel.
The first player to be ejected from the final table was Bart Hanson. He was followed by Ryan Lenaghan and Jeffrey Lisandro. Arthur Kargen was the next one eliminated. Viacheslav Zhukov fell in 5th place, followed by Brian Hastings in 4th.
Robert Mizrachi, whose brother Michael had made a similarly deep run in event #23, fell in 3rd place, setting up the heads-up stage of the event.
Christopher George squared off against Fuhs in the heads-up match at the end, and after a few hours of back and forth, an extra level was required for the two to finally decide the winner.
