2013 WSOP – Day 4 Report

While the 3rd day of the 2013 WSOP failed to award any bracelets, its 4th day more than made up for the dry spell. Two players picked up their gold bracelets: Trevor Pope, the winner of event #2 and Charles Sylvestre, who won event #3.
The $5k NL Holdem 8-handed event (#2) saw 8 players return to its final table with the goal of playing down to a winner. Trevor Pope had more than half of the chips in play in his possession, which obviously gave him a massive edge at the start of the home stretch. He took full advantage of his large stack, and after about 4 hours of action, he added the remaining chips to his stack as well.
The first player who bit the dust at the final table was David Peters. He was followed to the rail by Brandon Myers and Dan Kelly. The first player to take home a 6-figure prize was Jamie Armstrong, who earned $112.6k for his 5th place.
Jared Hramby was bounced in 4th place, picking up $154.5k.
Darryll Fish’s elimination in 3rd place set up the heads-up stage of the poker tournament. Fish earned $215.2k. The heads-up stage of the event lasted only 7 hands. David Vamplew fell in second place, crowning Pope the champion. Pope’s share of the prize-pool was $553.9k.

Event #3, the 1k NL Holdem one, saw 38 players return to the tables on its last day. Charles Sylvestre bested Seth Berger heads-up to pick up the bracelet and the $491.3k that came with it. Ryan Olisar fell in 6th place.

Events #4, #5 and #6, the much anticipated Millionaire Maker, saw action on day 4 as well. Event #6 saw 6,343 players belly up to its tables during its two day 1 flights, setting a new attendance record for a non-Main Event.
