2013 WSOP – Day 6 Summary

While Day 4 and Day 5 crowned two bracelet winners each, day 6 of the 2013 WSOP was stingy in this respect: no one walked away with the bling this time, but that doesn’t mean there was no action. Event #6, the record-setting Millionaire Maker stole the limelight, playing down to its final 10. Event #7, the $1k NL Holdem one and Event #8, the $2.5k 8-Game Mix rolled on, as two new events kicked off.
The Millionaire Maker had been scheduled to play down to its winner on Monday, but given the outstanding player turnout which set a new record for non-Main Event WSOP tournaments, the organizers found themselves forced to add another day to the schedule.
The player who will start the final day of the event from pole position is Benny Chen, who has amassed 5.86 million chips. Dan Kelly will start second, behind a stack of 4.13 million chips.
Online poker legend Chris Hunichen has made the top 10 as well: he will start the home dash with 3.43 million chips to his name.
Joe Kuether will be back as well, although his 1.36 million chips don’t really confer him favorite status.
Event #7, the $1k
NL Holdem one, started with a massive number of registrants as well and on Day 6 of the Series, it too managed to play down to its final 10. Amit Makhija was the only player to crack the 1 million chip ceiling: he will start the final day in pole position.
Jason Koon and Eric Baldwin made the final 10 too, together with Matt Waxman.
Event #8, the $2.5k 8-Game Mix, played down to its final 19, having started off with 192 players. Marco Johnson finished the day with the largest stack. Greg Mueller shall be back on the final day as well.
