Chris Priday started the second day of the $10k Ladies
NL Holdem Championship event with the largest stack, and she put in an excellent Day 2 performance indeed. At the end of the day, she was still one of the large stacks, having bagged 455k chips. There was one player whose day turned out to be much better than Priday’s though: Shana Matthews shot to the top of the chip counts, finishing the day with a stack of 497k chips to her name.
Of the original starting field of 954 players, 122 returned to the tables at the beginning of the second day. With the money bubble set for 117th place, it would’ve been rather normal for the action to freeze up a little, but that just didn’t happen. The action was fast all through the day and the money bubble came and went without causing significant disturbance in its flow. After little more than 5 hours, the field played down to the final 27. It took them about 3 more hours to reach the official final table, but they did reach it before the end of the green felt hostilities for the day.
Jackie Glazier was still in the running at the beginning of the day, but she failed to make the final table: she was bounced in 83rd place. Other notables who hit the rail were Marsha Wolak (in 74th place) Liv Boeree (the
PokerStars pro made it all the way the 54th), and Danielle Andersen (44th place).
Barbara Enright had the eyes of the press on her in the beginning, but her tournament run came to an end as well, in 25th place.
Amanda Baker made the final 9, together with Kristen Bicknell and Leanne Haas.
