The second day of event #52 of the
2013 WSOP, the $25k NL Holdem 6-handed one, went into the books a couple of hours ago. The day was a truly exhausting one as the 17th level had to be repeated on account of the money bubble. Max Lehmanski finished the day with the largest stack: he had 1.98 million chips bagged. Lehmanski was the one who started the day with the largest stack too, and although during the day, he relinquished the lead on a few occasions, in the end he finished at the top nonetheless. His domination at the top was quite obvious at that stage. The second place man, Stephen Chidwick, had only 1.78 million chips bagged. Phil Galfond had a great day too: he finished with 1.47 million chips. Other players who managed to cross into 7-figure territory were Dani Stern and Steve Sung.
Sung’s day was a truly interesting one: at one point, he came close to elimination, right on the money bubble. Igor Kurganov was the villain in that hand, but instead of going home empty-handed, Sung managed to double up and the momentum that pot gave him lasted him the rest of the day. Later on, he sent Kyle Julius to the rail, and he eventually finished 5th overall.
Byron Kaverman busted out on Day 2 as well, together with a host of other “name” players, like
PokerStars pro Jason Mercier, Tobias Reinkemeier, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Eugene Katchalov, JP Kelly, and Anthony Gregg, who was fresh off his $111,111 High Roller win.
Gregg came into the action straight from the High Roller tables, but his tournament life was cut short this time, on account of a failed bluff.
Kevin Eyster on the other hand, finished the day with a healthy stack. Jeff Gross, Christian Harder and David Baker will be back as well.
With the WSOP in full swing, PokerStars run a series of other promotions which do not directly concern the Series yet offer players outstanding value nonetheless.
