2013 WSOP – Event #60 Plays Through its Second Day

The second day of event #60, another $1.5k NL Holdem tournament of the 2013 WSOP, saw its field play down to the final 15, setting up Day 3 as the likely last one of the event. A total of 297 players bellied up to the tables at the beginning of the day so the attrition must’ve been high indeed. The player who finished Day 2 with the largest stack was Cy Williams, who had 1.37 million chips bagged. He was followed by Bijon Notash, who will take 1.25 million chips into Day 3.
Daniel Cascado and Hiren Patel had great days as well: they finished 3rd and 4th, with 1.1 million and 1,099,000 chips to their names respectively. Daniel Cascado already has a 2013 WSOP cash: he finished second in event #24, another $1.5k NL Holdem affair.

At the start of the day, several “notables” were in the field still, but scores of them fell by the side during the march down to the final 15. Manig Loeser was among the first to fall. The German was followed to the rail by Jeremy Ausmus and Bryan Micon. Rupert Elder and Bill Chen missed out on the top 100 as well. Lauren Kling on the other hand made it all the way to 91st place. Melanie Weisner did even better: she was bounced in 78th. Jeff Madsen was one of the deepest finishing pros: he faded away in 33rd place.

Besides Hiren Patel, Loni Harwood made the final 15 too, to give the “name” crowd a heftier representation during the last stage of the poker tournament. Another “name” player who will be back on Day 3 is Ryan Julius, whose 479k chips will probably only earn him short-stack status.
