2013 WSOPE Main Event – Final Table Set

The 6-handed final table of the WSOP Europe’s 2013 edition has been set on Wednesday, and the player going into the final stretch of the poker tournament with the largest stack and thus the best odds is Adrian Mateos from Spain, the player who began the day with the largest stack too.
Day 4 of the Main Event saw 24 players return to action and as said above, Mateos already had the upper hand then. He quickly extended his chip lead, bouncing one of the last hopes of the locals, Ludovic Lacay and then putting an end to Jordan Cristos’ tournament life too.
Eventually, Mateos finished with a stack of 3.78 million chips.
Germany’s Dominik Nitsche, who had held the chip lead at one point in the event too, finished with 2.35 million chips, locking up second place. Another German, Benny Spindler, had a great day as well: he finished 4th, with 1.74 million chips to his name.

Even though one of the local big guns, Ludovic Lacay is gone, there’s still hope for the home crowd: Fabrice Soulier, one of two remaining WSOP bracelet winners, is still in the running and he has 1.87 million chips, so he may yet end up the one to add another piece of jewelry to his collection.

Notable players who fell by the side on Day 4 were Mark Teltscher and Jeremy Ausmus. Andrei Konopelko and Shannon Shorr were the two players who were bounced in 8th and 7th places respectively and whose eliminations set the official final table.

The €25.6k High Roller played on as well on Wednesday, thinning its own field down to 13. Philipp Gruissem was the one who clinched the chip lead in this event. Scott Seiver and Erik Seidel finished with healthy stacks too.
