2014 Aussie Millions Schedule Announced

There are still 5 months to go before the 2014 Aussie Millions, but apparently, it’s never too early to release a schedule and to generate some additional buzz in regards to the Series. The Crown Casino, the venue which hosts the Aussie Millions made the announcement today, August 6. The Series will kick off on Thursday, January 23, and it will wrap up on Monday, February 10, marking the first big live event series of the year and offering poker pros the possibility to begin padding their stats in earnest. The Series will feature 20 events, including the AU$ 1.1k
NL Holdem accumulator event, the AU$25k Challenge, the AU$100k Challenge and the AU$250k Challenge.
The highlight of the Series will yet again be the AU$10k Main Event of course, which isn’t just one of the richest live poker events to kick off the year, it is also the largest
poker tournament to take place on the Southern Hemisphere.
The Main Event kicks off on February 2 and it is scheduled to wrap up on Feb 9, 2014.
The first event of the 2014 Aussie Millions is an AU$1.1k NL Holdem event, followed by a handful of similar tournaments. The AU$1.1k NL Holdem accumulator event – one of the most popular tournaments of the Series – kicks off on January 30, with the first of its two Day 1 flights.
The very last event of the Aussie Millions is the AU$250k Challenge which is obviously aimed at high-profile high rollers.
Last year’s winner of the Aussie Millions main event was Mervin Chan, who bested a starting field of 629 players to take down the AU$1.6 million top prize. Patrik Antonius had also made the final table, together with Dan Shak and David Yan.
Online qualifiers will start for the 2014 Aussie Millions soon.
