2014 PCA Main Event – Day 3 Report

The third day of the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event went into the books on Friday, when the field managed to play past the money bubble, right down to the final 72. The player who had the most chips bagged was Max Silver, who finished the day with a stack of 1.45 million. Another player who had an excellent Day 3 was Roger Teska.
Teska ended up with 1.4 million chips to his name although a peculiar incident cast a shadow over his otherwise flawless day at the green felt: towards the end of the day, he was spotted making “lewd” gestures towards the TV cameras, a “move” which earned him a one-round penalty for the following day. Teska was quick to state that he would simply show up late for the action, but tournament officials were just as quick to inform him that his penalty would in fact begin when he arrived.

Due to the high number of notables taking part in the action, it was no surprise that quite a few of them made it to day 4. Kyle Sorel was one of these players (he finished with 1.13 million chips). Antoine Saout, Sam Greenwood, Mike McDonald, Loni Harwood and Paul Berende were all among the survivors as well.
The highlight of the third day of action was the bursting of the money bubble, which separated the losers from the winners. Following the bubble, the action loosened up quite a bit, claiming the tournament lives of several “name” professionals. It was during this stage of the action that former PCA Main Event Champion John Dibella bit the dust, together with Antonio Esfandiari, Keven Stammen and Sam Cohen.
Greg Merson and Maria Ho found the way to the rail as well, in 98th and 85th places respectively.
