On Thursday, the last preliminary event of the 2014 WSOP got going, as the second and last Day 1 flight of the Little One for One Drop unfolded as well. A number of other events saw action too.
Event #60, the $1.5k
NL Holdem one, was one of these events. It saw 24 players return to its tables on what would turn out to be its penultimate day of action. By the time the day wound down, only two players were left standing: Brandon Hall and Salman Jaddi. The first prize in this one is a handsome $614.2k, so there’s still plenty to play for indeed. Zach Gruneberg was the one who walked away with the largest prize thus far. Having finished in 3rd place, he scooped up $270.2k.
Steve Sung made the final table of the event as well: he indeed up in 8th spot, picking up a $59.5k reward.

Event #61, the $10k Seven-Card Stud Championship event, played down to its winner on Thursday. That winner was Matt Grapenthien, who disposed of none other than Todd Brunson heads-up. The winner’s share of the prize-pool was $268.4k in this one. The runner-up picked up $165.8k.
James Obst finished third, for a $103.8k reward. None of the other players managed to break into 6-figure territory.
The second day 1 flight of the $1,111 Little One for One Drop saw the final size of the starting field set to 4,496 players, falling short of the record set by the same event a year ago. The prize-pool was set to a little over $4 million, and a total of 468 players would get paid.
