On Wednesday, the $50k Poker Players’ Championship event of the
2014 WSOP played down to its money bubble and past it, making history in the process. Melissa Burr became the first ever female player to make it into the money at the $50k PPC, and she didn’t stop there: she actually survived the day to secure her seat for Thursday.
The 4th day of the PPC event came to a close when the unofficial final table of 8 was reached. The player who finished with the most chips was Brandon Shack-Harris of the US, who had 4.1 million chips bagged. Abe Mosseri finished with a large stack as well: he had 3.48 million chips at the finish line.
Frank Kassela will start Day 5 off a decent stack of 2.5 million chips as well. Melissa Burr finished with just 661k chips to her name, but she will not be the official short-stack come the home stretch of the
poker tournament. That honor went to Allen Kessler, who had only 439k chips bagged.

Event #47, the $1.5k Ante Only NL Holdem one, played down to a winner on Day 30. Featuring a unique format, without blinds and with antes and a bring-in as compulsory bets, the poker tournament took players by surprise. It took the field a while to get used to the format strategy-wise, but eventually things settled into a routine. When all was said and done, Jesse McEuen was the one with his arms raised, holding up the bracelet in celebration. The winner’s share of the prize-pool was $212k.
Runner-up Jonas Lauck was the only other player to finish in 6-figures. His haul was $130.9k.
