2015 EPT Barcelona Main Event - Day 2 Report

The second day of the 2015 edition of the EPT's Barcelona Main Event was a really prolific one in terms of player eliminations. Some 1,000 players showed up at the tables at the beginning of the day and when all was said and done, only 343 remained standing. Poker pro Nick Petrangelo was the one who finished with the largest stack: he had some 570k chips bagged.
Petrangelo didn't have a bad day. He kept adding to his stack through several smaller pots, but he scored a true whooper towards the end, when he eliminated Tonnie Krijn for a massive pot, chipping up to his current level. This year has been extremely successful for Petrangelo thus far: he kicked things off by picking up some $400k at the PCA, following it up with two 6-figure EPT scores and a WSOP bracelet. Everything accounted for, he has taken down around $1.5 million and he's looking for more in Barcelona.

Brazil's Andre Akkari finished with a large stack as well: he ended up with some 543k chips. No one else really managed to get close to the leader's stack though. John Juanda finished with 371k, while Dario Sammartino finished with 335.4k. Patrik Antonius and Jens Kyllonen finished the day with decent stacks too.
Ruben Visser on the other hand didn't do well at all: he was among those who bit the dust, together with Vladimir Troyanovskiy and PokerStars' own Eugene Katchalov. Talking about PokerStars pros: Leo Fernandez and Naoya Kihara were among those eliminated as well.
The size of the prize-pool is currently not known.
