2015 EPT Barcelona Main Event - Day 3 Report

Day 3 of the 2015 EPT Barcelona Main Event was the day which would finally see the price-pool revealed. Indeed, those still in contention will play for a prize-pool of €8.21 million, which means that the eventual winner will walk away with a €1.42 million reward.
The start-of-the-day chip leader was Nick Petrangelo, who didn't have a good Day 3 at all. He took several big hits and he eventually ended up with 400k chips, still alive but not in a particularly good shape. The new chip leader is Oleksii Khoroshenin, who finished the day behind a stack of 1.7 million chips. Khoroshenin is by no means a newcomer to the EPT, in fact, he already has a title under his belt: last year, who took down the Main Event of the Vienna stop, pocketing a €578.3k prize.

Dmitry Yurashov finished with a large stack as well: he ended up pocketing €1.21 million. Rodney Ramalho finished 3rd, with 1.13 million chips. Andre Akkari was the only "name" player in the top 10: he finished 10th, with 982k chips to his name.
Wherever there are winners, there have to be losers as well. Scores of "name" players bit the dust on Day 3, some of them before the money-bubble burst. Isaac Haxton was one of these players. He was eliminated together with David Vamplew, Bertrand Grospellier and Max Greenwood.
There were two bubble-boys: Jonas Lauch and Diego Ventura, who were eliminated simultaneously, opening the path to a payday for the other players. Mike Watson hit the rail past the money-bubble. His 233rd place finish was worth €8.8k. Andras Nemeth bit the dust too, together with Tobias Peters and Natalie Hof.
